We will start by going to the village of
Mustafapaşa, an ancient
Greek village famous for its architectural appearance. During the Ottoman Empire, its former name was Sinassos (city of the sun) 20.until the beginning of the century, it was one of the largest
Greek settlements in Cappadocia.
The area has gained a reputation for the ornate carved stonework of the houses. Our other route is
Keşlik Monastery, which consists of 3 churches, refectory, sleeping and living areas carved out of rock.
This monastery is known as one of the rare iconoclastic examples of Cappadocia frescoes. It was used during the Byzantine period until the last period of the
Ottoman Empire. After that, we will continue to
Taşkınpaşa, one of the favorite villages of Cappadocia. Here we will visit the Taşkınpaşa Madrasa (Theological School) and an old mosque built in the classical Seljuk style.
The madrasa is the 14th in Konya, which has dominated this part of Anatolia for about 250 years.it was built by the karamanids, who were dynasties in the century. We’ll stop for lunch in the village of Taşkınpaşa. After the break, our tour will continue in the ancient city of Sobessos, the only late Roman/early Byzantine settlement in Cappadocia.
Kent, M.S. 4. it is a
Roman settlement dating from the century. We will see the excavation area, where you can see a meeting hall of 400 m2, which is the main attraction.
By visiting the excavation site, we will find Roman ruins and learn much information about the history of Cappadocia that we still do not know. Christians are known to hide from Roman soldiers. However, no evidence of a complete Roman settlement has been seen here.
After visiting the excavation site, we will go to the Soğanlı Valley, a deep valley with hiking trails that you will not see anywhere else.
The
Soğanlı Valley was once the third largest monastic center of the region. Most 9. and 13. it was home to many caves, churches and monasteries over the centuries. Bulbous has become a symbol of the village because it is famous for its dolls. By hiking in the valley in the afternoon, we will enjoy nature, where you will find peace.
We will continue our tour with
Kaymaklı Underground City. After exploring the underground city of Cappadocia, which has a capacity of about 4,000 people, we will end our tour.
This city has a depth of about 20 meters and contains many rooms of the
Thuja underground city (kitchens, warehouses, living quarters, wine cellars, church). Return to your hotel will be between 17:30 and 18:00.
